The 2021-2022 school year is set to begin in a week, are you ready? The media center is going to be offering some new and exciting activities for students, and I wanted to take a minute to share some of those with you: 1. 5th grade students will be participating in Battle of the Books this Fall. Stay tuned for more information that will be coming home within the first two weeks of school. 2. Classes will be completing a research project at the beginning of the school year in order to prepare for the arrival of our library dragon...aka a bearded dragon...aka Fluffy. 3. This year, I will be implementing a program called, "Shelfies." Responsible students from 5th grade will have the opportunity to sign-up to be a library helper. These students will have a free pass to come to the library each morning before class, each afternoon as they wait for their bus/car to be called, as well as assisting with the Book Fair. We have a lot of students this year, so students who can assist sticking books back on the shelves will be assets to the media center this school year! *Update - Though this message was for last year, it is still relevant for this year!*
